With over 30 years of dedicated experience in occupational health, safety, and training, Evert is a recognized authority in workplace safety management across South Africa's most demanding industries.

His career began in the mining sector, where he spent decades working directly in high-risk environments, conducting underground safety inspections, leading hazard identification programs, and managing critical incident investigations. This hands-on experience gave him an intimate understanding of the real challenges safety professionals face daily.

Throughout his career, Evert has been directly responsible for:

* Developing and implementing comprehensive SHE compliance programmes
* Conducting safety audits and risk assessments in mining and industrial  operations
* Leading workforce training initiatives and safety inductions for thousands of employees
* Ensuring adherence to labour law, legal liability frameworks, and ISO standards
* Managing emergency response protocols and incident resolution processes

His extensive field experience revealed a persistent industry-wide problem: safety management systems were fragmented, manual, and reactive. Leaving organisations vulnerable and workers at risk.

This insight became the catalyst for Omnisafe.
